Sutton Hydroelectric Project
Sutton Dam, on the Elk River near the town of Sutton, WV, was constructed in 1957 by the US Army
Corps of Engineers (Huntington District) for the purposes of flood control, water supply,recreation and
fish and wildlife enhancement.

Sutton Hydroelectric Company LLC, a wholly
owned subsidiary of AHS, has filed a
Preliminary Licensing Proposal with the
Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on
February 28, 2013 along with a new
application for a Preliminary Permit. Sutton
Hydro awaits the FERC's authorization before
proceeding further with the project. To read
